Addition and deck
Addition and deck
Location
Highland Park, Los Angeles, CA
Nick first met the owners when he came in to fix a minor bathroom issue. After completing that job, he was asked to handle a small remodel, and what started as a few basic projects soon blossomed into a lasting relationship that spanned years. The owners grew comfortable with Nick's work on the smaller projects, which ultimately gave them the confidence to tackle something on a much larger scale.
Together, Nick, his team and the owners brainstormed the initial concept for the large addition project before collaborating with Martin Fenlon’s architectural firm www.martinfenlon.com to bring the vision to life.
The addition was a large undertaking, which included building a brand-new kitchen, living room, dining room, office, and patio. One of the most challenging aspects of the project was bringing in massive 7’x7’ windows up a steep hill without the use of a crane. The team faced this operational hurdle head-on and came up with an inventive solution to get the job done.
Two years later, a large deck was added to the home. The design of the deck was carefully considered to connect the house seamlessly with the pool and spa, creating an ideal space for both relaxation and entertainment.
Total project project time including deck - 16 months (12 months for the addition and 4 months for the deck)
